Newhouse Art started thirty five years ago as a result of my interest in collecting art. Collectors were interested in what my collection consisted of and asked for assistance. We began by helping build collections and then consulting for artists, galleries and museums. We consult for individuals, galleries, museums, interior and landscape architects and designers providing a wide range of art and artists from contemporary to traditional. We represent artists internationally, curating exhibitions in Museums and Galleries. We work with all types of art including sculpture, paintings, works on paper, photography, glass, Native American Art, African Art, commissioned works and limited edition serigraphs and lithographs. Education is an important part of our philosophy. We enjoy educating our collectors and constantly follow the international market, drawing on a wide network of contacts to bring new and exciting art to the collector's attention. Newhouse Art consults Internationally and has worked In Madrid and Valencia, Spain, Portugal, England and is now producing exhibitions in New York, Venice, Milan, Sicily, Budapest and Transylvania. Carole Newhouse founded Newhouse Associates, an International art-consulting firm and works as a consultant to residential and corporate collectors, decorators, interior designers, galleries and museums. With exceptional knowledge of the art market its trends and long standing relationships with prominent artists, Newhouse Associates is able to offer their expertise effectively. Carole’s expertise in the world of art includes consulting for Artists Rights Society, Art Economist Magazine, writing articles for magazines and curating gallery and museum exhibitions for many world renowned artists including: Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Hunt Slonem, Larry Poons, Duane Hansen, Trova and Spanish artist Ciria. Newhouse Associates has been helping collectors establish their collections and works with artists to curate museum and gallery exhibitions. When a client was looking for a sculpture for her table we agreed on this beautiful piece. Sculpture adds a whole new dimension to a room. The collector liked it so much she wanted to add more pieces to her home.

Gene Johnson has been exhibiting since the mid-80s in New York City. He has participated in many group and solo exhibitions in New York, Mexico, Paris, Madrid, Havana and Brazil. His work can be found in private, corporate and museum collections in the US, Latin America and Europe. Johnson is an abstract painter who also has a deep interest in the art of collage. His collages are generally small in scale, giving them a sense of intimacy and playfulness, while his paintings are bolder and of a much larger scale, running the gamut from brilliant hues to the monochromatic grays, blacks and whites. Both his paintings and collages show his admiration and respect for traditional and expressive artists alike. In his paintings, his intense and energetic application of paint embodies them with a synthesis of geometry, physical texture, emotion, intuition and sensuality. His collages reflect his fascination with the history of impactful design, balance and color.

BILL DREW "As I paint, draw, build textures, revise, repaint and refine, the individual forms, geometries and colors erode until the painting achieves a state of flux where each individual painting dissolves into another. The surface forms a skin that reveals a history of its own making and in that way serves as a record of my thoughts and feelings as they progress through time. In that sense, what the paintings are about and how they came about are one and the same."

CIRIA In regards to Ciria’s work, the influential American critic Donald Kuspit has said, “I would venture to say that José Manuel Ciria is a great painter. And by that I mean that he’s got complete command of his medium and his tools; paint and both the gestural and the geometric vocabulary of modernist abstraction… We can clearly see a strong element of fantasy in Ciria’s paintings, as his figures show. Perhaps he could be called an abstract illusionist, in the sense that he creates fantastic figures out of abstract elements, which are usually gestural planes that appear to be in constant movement that thus suggest a figure in the midst of a metaphoric process." Throughout his professional career Ciria has also been awarded numerous prizes and international recognition.
